Position Summary:
The Portfolio Specialist position is responsible for a wide range of equipment lease and finance portfolio administration services for JDR clients (including banks, independent lessors, and manufacturer captives). These service tasks and responsibilities include (but not limited to) contract/asset booking, manual invoicing, payment application, reconciliations, contract financial adjustments (modifications, extensions, paydowns, etc), asset dispositions, non-financial contract changes, business case testing, lease and loan accounting software functional testing and upgrade testing. Successful candidates will have at least 2 years of equipment finance operations and lease & loan accounting experience. This role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of the company’s products/services to provide tailored solutions that meet client objectives. This position requires month end dedication and flexibility due to increased workload, which is counterbalanced during mid-month downtimes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management:
- Booking and overall management of equipment lease and loan contracts (true leases, operating leases, lease purchase agreements, conditional sale agreements and variable rate leases and loans) for multiple clients.
- Trouble shoot issues presented by clients, research solutions, estimate resolution effort, complete statements of work, test multiple scenarios, inform the client on the cause and solution implemented.
- Train clients on InfoLease® software and best practices used in the equipment leasing and finance industry.
- Perform mid-term financial changes to contracts, including restructures, extensions and partial terminations.
- Assist in portfolio conversions, including review of contracts, source data and deciding most efficient conversion approach.
- Complete non-financial changes, including demographics, client-specific coding and late charge waivers.
- Collect, organize, balance and post daily payment receipts from multiple sources (lockbox, ACH, wires, etc.).
- Calculate payoff/buyout values.
- Review and perform contract dispositions.
- Assist with creation, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures and best practices for all clients
- Create and audit customer (lessee) facing communications (invoices, ACH notices, letters, etc.).
- Assist with departmental training and associated ad-hoc training materials.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with JDR Project Management personnel on software upgrade testing
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of products or services.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Work with Account Executive to build and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Attend monthly servicer meetings and provide feedback and updates as needed
- Problem Resolution:
- Address any client concerns and discuss with Account Executive in a timely and professional manner. Escalate as needed.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and resolve issues.

Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in equipment finance industry and an in-depth knowledge of the equipment finance business model, preferably with operations and lease/loan accounting knowledge.
- Knowledge of complex lease and loan structures, as well as lease & loan accounting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-reliant, good problem solver and results oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (or relevant tools), especially Excel.
- A customer-first mindset with a focus on delivering value to clients.

Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, marketing, or a related field
- Experience with Aspire and/or InfoLease
- Portfolio management tasks (booking, invoicing, payment application, dispositions, terminations, etc)
- Familiarity with industry trends
- Certified Lease and Finance Professional (CLFP)
